Check out this Q&A with a member of BitSight's Customer Success team to learn about her role as a Sr. Customer Success Manager, her experience, and more.
Name: Nurah Muhamad
Job Title: Sr. Customer Success Manager
What do you do at BitSight and how long have you worked here?
I manage Mid-tier and Strategic accounts, helping customers to integrate security ratings into their current risk management processes. I’ve been here for 1 year now.
What is your background and how did you get into Customer Success?
I’ve kinda been all over the map! I started out in IT, then did business analysis before moving to Retail as a Category Manager and then market research analysis. I started in Customer Success at HubSpot, realizing that I really enjoy helping customers achieve business goals by leveraging technology.
What challenges you the most at BitSight?
I work with customers across different industries and they are at varying stages of how mature their third party risk management programs are, so the solutions and guidance that we provide cannot be one size fits all. While this is challenging, it’s also gratifying when my customers hit that “Aha!” moment once we work through it together.
What is your favorite thing to work on at BitSight?
I enjoy the constant release of new product features that our Product team pumps out. Some are the result of the feedback we get from our customers, so it’s a great feeling to close the loop with customers and working with them to get more from the product.
What is the most important thing you learned at BitSight?
The complexity, breadth and scope involved in managing cyber security. The “good guys” have to make sure every possible endpoint is secure, whereas the threat actors only have to find and exploit one to wreak havoc.
What advice do you have for someone first getting into this field?
The mindset you need to have in this field is customer-first, or to borrow from one of Amazon’s core tenets, be Customer-Obsessed.
What is your favorite quote?
The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but to reveal to him, his own." — Benjamin Disraeli
What do you like to do for fun?
I’m a huge foodie, so checking out the newest restaurant in town or finding a new favorite hole in the wall, as well as entertaining by hosting dinner parties for friends.
What was the last book you read?
Better than Before by Gretchen Rubin
If you weren’t working in Customer Success, what would you like to be?
Be on a show like Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations where I get paid to travel and eat!
Where was the last place you traveled? Where is your next trip or where is your dream destination?
Recently went back to Malaysia and also visited Portugal. My dream destination is Japan and Greece.
